Goals

The fellowship program is structured around four core objectives:

  1. Support Up to 20 Patient Advocates Annually
    • Provide funding for travel, lodging, conference registrations, and stipend to facilitate participation in leading scientific and policy forums.
  2. Build Capacity through Education
    • Offer specialized training on clinical trials literacy, drug development, and regulatory processes.
    • Equip advocates with tools to engage with researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers.
  3. Foster a Rigorous, Competitive Selection Process
    • Establish a Selection Committee composed of experienced patient advocates and representatives from key stakeholder groups to oversee the fellow selection process.
  4. Amplify the Patient Voice in Research and Policy
    • Ensure that fellows actively contribute to discussions on research design, trial recruitment, regulatory pathways, and health policy.
    • Create a sustained pipeline of patient advocates influencing the future of MASH and steatotic liver disease care.
