Harrison Fellows Convene at AASLD’s The Liver Meeting® 2025
NOVEMBER 6-9, 2025, WASHINGTON, DC, USA
As AASLD’s The Liver Meeting® 2025 (TLM25) concluded, the event marked an important milestone for the Fatty Liver Foundation (FLF) and the inaugural cohort of the Dr. Stephen A. Harrison Patient Advocacy Fellowship. For the first time, FLF leadership, Fellows, and program partners met in person, underscoring the growing role of structured patient advocacy within the scientific and clinical liver disease community.
The Liver Meeting® is one of the most influential international gatherings dedicated to liver disease research, clinical practice, and therapeutic innovation. Each year, TLM brings together hepatologists, researchers, industry developers, public health experts, and regulatory stakeholders to discuss advances related to MASLD/MASH, ALD, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, transplant medicine, diagnostics, and emerging therapeutics. The meeting serves as a key venue for scientific exchange, consensus building, and the advancement of clinical standards that shape patient care worldwide.
The Liver Meeting enabled Fellows to take part in patient-focused programming, engage with scientific content, and interact with academic, industry, and regulatory stakeholders. Through these activities, Fellows gained exposure to emerging therapeutic and diagnostic developments while helping to advance a more patient-centered dialogue within the field. The convening also strengthened cross-sector relationships and further positioned the Fellowship as an active contributor to the future of liver health.

The Fatty Liver Foundation extends appreciation to AASLD, course organizers, and participating partners for fostering an environment that supports learning, collaboration, and the elevation of patient perspectives. The Foundation looks forward to continued partnership as the Fellowship advances its mission of patient-driven innovation in steatotic liver disease research, care, and policy.
